New York City
I have fond memories of New York City. These are from a decade ago or so--hardly representative of the best photography of New York City. But these are taken with whatever I had at the time, which if I remember correctly was actually with an old digital camera.
I also had an odd way of taking photos then. I would walk and take it while looking at what I was taking live. In other words, I wouldn't really use the digital viewfinder or at least for very long. I had always found the digital viewfinder super constraining or difficult to see in the daylight as it would reflect against the sunlight and it would never actually quite capture what I could see with my own eyes. So I wanted to enjoy the scenery live also.
I was seeing so much and wanted to take in everything, like a video would but with a camera. But I should have probably devised some crazy contraption mounted on my head like a Google car or probably bought a GoPro or something, but that would have been a splurge for me.
So here's to old, strange shots of certain parts of Manhattan from years ago that I find nostalgic if only because it's not touched up or anything.
